Speech and Language Therapy

Our Speech and Language Therapists are committed to ensuring we provide a high quality and personalised service to adults and children experiencing difficulty with:

• Speech
• Language
• Communication
• Voice
• Swallowing, eating and drinking

We work in partnership with a variety of Health and Social Care organisations and professionals (including doctors, nurses, dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists as well as social workers) to help reduce the impact of these conditions upon a person’s ability to take part in their daily life. 

This includes people who have such difficulties after a stroke, neurological, respiratory, head and neck Cancer, as well as paediatric and neonatal patients. 

We also see people with voice difficulties and head and neck cancer in our outpatient service.

Our Speech and Language Therapy team support patients who are registered with a GP in Barnsley.
