Cellular Pathology

Cellular Pathology provides three core services; routine diagnostic histopathology, cervical cytology and a post mortem service.

Histopathology

Histopathology is based at Rotherham Hospital. Visit the service page for histopathology, on Rotherham Hospital’s website to find out more information.

Cervical cytology

The Cervical Cytology Department is no longer sited at Barnsley Hospital. The service is now based at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT).

Mortuary Services

Mortuary Services are provided at both Barnsley Hospital, and Rotherham Hospital.
