Serology tests

Please note that from 15/04/2019:

Mycoplasma serology (IgG and IgM) will no longer be performed on blood samples from patients under 25yrs old, as this test may not provide a definitive result until the convalescent phase of the illness. Please send a green topped viral swab for Mycoplasma PCR testing which is more sensitive in the diagnosis of atypical pneumonia.

Where both serology and blood sciences tests are requested, please ensure that a separate request and a separate sample are sent to serology.  Unfortunately, we are unable to process tests that have been tested on blood science analysers due to contamination issues.
