Improving Communication for All May 15th
At Barnsley, we believe that effective communication is the cornerstone of inclusivity, whether it’s among colleagues and with patients.
At Barnsley, communication inclusivity is a commitment, and in recent times we have worked closely with Communication Access UK (CAUK). We believe that effective communication is the cornerstone of inclusivity, whether it’s among colleagues and with patients. As part of this ongoing effort, we are dedicated to ensuring that our communication practices are accessible to everyone.
Communication difficulties come in many forms and affect a wide range of individuals. Whether it’s hearing impairment, speech differences, or language barriers, these challenges can make everyday interactions more challenging. However, by fostering a culture of understanding and empathy, we can work together to bridge these communication gaps.
One initiative that aligns with our inclusive vision is the Communication Access UK (CAUK) accreditation. This accreditation program aims to promote accessible communication practices in various settings, including healthcare facilities like ours. By gaining CAUK accreditation, departments can demonstrate their commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
Here’s how you can get involved:
