Our Emergency Department is very busy right now and some people are experiencing long waits. If you do not require emergency care, please use an alternative such as 111 online.
Letters will be made available securely through our Patient Portal system.
If a patient does not access the letter within 24 hours the system will send the letter through the post as well.
Using the new digital portal, patients can also see the history of all their outpatient clinic outcome letters - (when they have been copied in).
This is a positive change for patients who will now be able to receive their letters quicker and also go back and look at them on their smartphone or PC.
The initiative also helps with Barnsley Hospital's sustainability objectives to reduce the use of paper.
